- Recently formed Point
Communications Corp. announced its creation of two
services: Point Survey, which features professionally written
reviews of Web sites; and Point Escort, a tutorial and guided tour
of the Internet designed for a broad audience that includes novice
users.

The University of North Carolina's Institute for Academic
Technology announced WebApp (tm), a software program that
simplifies the installation and execution of software distributed
by World Wide Web servers on the Internet. The non-profit
institute provides the MS
Windows version of this shareware for free. The Macintosh
version will be available during the summer.
- Among the other small businesses that attended the conference were: Beverly Hills Internet who promoted their Web development services; Ubique Inc. who presented information on their Virtual Place (tm) product family;
