	Two Years on the Web, by John December Web Publishing Skills Several of the magazine staff have had professional journalism experience--Chris Lapham and Amelia DeLoach have both several years reporting and writing experience. So they haven't found the paradigm of the "newsroom" that this publication has assumed very different than their work on other publications. I have experience in writing books for a commercial publisher, so I have insight into the processes of professional publishing from the author's standpoint. So the skills we've developed, and even the names I have given the roles, are not all that different than those at many paper-based publications. Key skills include acquisition, development and copy editing, promotion and marketing, and communication.
