Root Page of Article: Coming Out of the Closedt World, by John Horberg

Cinematography and Cyberpunk Fiction

Actually, Edwards' description of the application of fictional discourse to real life is reasonable and enlightening -- But he is no film critic! His descriptions of the plots of each film are mostly dull and uninspiring.

I must also admit that Edwards' concepts of "cyborg discourse" and "cyborg subjectivity" are quite lost on me. Perhaps other readers will see more in the final 65 pages than I did.

Still, for those readers unfamiliar with the following works, Edwards' plot summaries might be helpful:

  • Fail-Safe
  • Dr. Strangelove
  • 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Colossus: The Forbidden Project
  • Tron
  • The Star Wars Trilogy
  • Blade Runner
  • Terminator and T2
  • Neuromancer
