In particular, long passages on the relationship of discourse to ideologies and subjectivity, discussion of the metaphors of computers, capitalist/Marxist political movements, and communication theory -- highly philosophical territory worked over through the eyes of the likes of Derrida, Foucault, Barthes, and Wittgenstein -- may be better off skimmed over by readers not particularly interested in those ideas.
