The National Center to Improve Practice
The National Center to Improve Practice (NCIP) is located at the Education Development Center (EDC) in Newton, Massachusetts. Now in the fourth year of a five-year grant (1992-97) from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), NCIP is working to help all educators--teachers, preservice faculty, trainers, technical assistance providers, staff developers, administrators, coordinators, specialists, and parents--to use technology effectively. In so doing, they hope to improve the outcomes of students with disabilities through a model of professional development that includes a telecommunications network called NCIPnet.
