- Byways: America's Byways; roads recognized by the US Secretary of Transportation for archaeological, cultural, historic, natural, recreational, and scenic qualities; consist of All-American Roads and the National Scenic Byways; All-American Roads are considered the finest byways; National Scenic Byways possess outstanding qualities that exemplify the regional characteristics of the US; sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration, US Department of Transportation; managed by the National Scenic Byways Online project at Utah State University and Multimedia Data Services Corporation
