Technology, Commerce, and Innovation in the Pacific World Wide Web

As emerging Internet and Web technologies push the envelope of what we can do online, content creators, managers, and users struggle just to keep their knowledge and skills current. However, the opportunities of the online world demand far more of us: just keeping up with technologies is not enough!

Instead, we can look to patterns of economic, political, and geographical forces that the Pacific rim may be uniquely poised to tap.

Based on experience on the Net and recent travels, I outline specific Net industries that may hold potential for Hawaii to flourish in an information society, culture, and marketplace.
