Topic Summary:
The World Wide Web and the Internet offer new opportunities for students and educators to take part in global conversations. Yet these technologies are changing rapidly, making possible expressions not only of networked hypermedia information, but interactive applications and three-dimensional worlds which exhibit behavior. These technologies challenge practitioners to create methodologies which express meaning in these media. Educators are likewise challenged to create new courses which teach a new media literacy--not just technology--to help students creatively and expressively participate in the online world.
