Goal: to help you see the interactivity possible on the Internet and how design strategies can contextualize this activity. (Seminar does not cover syntax, programming, or hardware/software implementation.)
Introduction: Context / Society/Tech Mix
Java, ActiveX, and other interactive technologies bring new possibilities for developing content on the Web. What does this capability mean for information dissemination and communication? How can the capabilities of interactive technologies be used to effectively support communication among users? This session explores the significance and role of interactivity in providing an environment for individual and collaborative work, both within an organization and externally.
Attendees will:
- Learn the key technologies for bringing interactivity to Internet and intranet communication
- Understand a scheme for modeling user interactivity that conceptualizes users, objectives, and shared workspaces
- Take home a list of high-level design strategies to consider in developing interactive collaboration applications to tap the potential for Web interactivity
